Friday fill it

1.   My favorite new blog of the moment is     Smitten Kitchen  .

2.   Something I am thankful for is   my new job.  I love it.      

3.  Something that made me laugh this week was    My son.  He makes me laugh daily   .

4. An item that is currently on my wish list is    nice comfy winter pj's   .

5.  I am excited about    Having the whole week of Thankgiving off of work!!! 

6.  If I were a color I would be     camel/tan  IT goes with everything, and it's classic .

7.  My favorite way to spend a chilly fall day is by    coffee, shopping, cuddling and some tv  .

It's that day you all know and love....Friday!!!!! 

1.   My favorite thing about this week was/is     that I am feeling better, feeling sick is the worst!   

2.   Colder weather makes me   so happy!  I love cold, cozy weather.  Ask me again in January and it may be a different story.

3.  Three things that make me terribly happy as of late are   my family, the thought of the holidays and peppermint mochas   .

4. If I could only wear one kind of shoe for the rest of my life, I'd choose    Heels.  I wear them almost everyday  .

5.  My personality type is    I am pretty outgoing.  I really have come out of my shell in the past few years.  I also sometimes let people walk all over me.  I am working on that.

6.  I have a serious problem resisting     anything chocolate chip.  I am not a big sweet person, but chocolate chip anything gets me every time  .

7.  My favorite color to wear is    camel and white  .

Our Pottery Barn Knock Off....

So in case you didn't notice, Jack loves firetrucks.  That's all he talks about.  In fact I think I sometimes hear him talking about them in his sleep.  So we decided to change his "babyish" room into more of a boyish room and do the truck theme.  

I saw this firetruck painting on line at Pottery Barn Kids, and had to have it...too bad it's over $200, and way over our budget.  

Did that stop us??? No!  My husband put his painting talents to work, and whipped up his own "knock off" of the Pottery Barn painting for WAY less money. It's the same size as the Pottery Barn version,  and I  think it looks pretty darn good.

Happy Halloween everyone! Since I don't have any new pictures of Jack in his costume yet, I thought I would post some pics of him last year.  I can't believe how little and chubby he looks!

2nd birthday pics...better late than never

With everything going on, I never got to post pics from Jack's 2nd birthday night.  Hope your weekend is going well!

1.   When I was a kid I wanted to be      a teacher    when I grew up.

2.   As an adult, my dream job would be   a news anchor on the Today show      .

3.  W hen I was younger I wanted to be just like  my mom  .

4. The childhood Halloween costume that I remember most was when I was    a red crayon.  My mom made and it was so cute.  I think I may have worn it for two Halloweens .

5.  My favorite childhood toy was    there were sooo many; Barbies, My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake, and of course, Cabbage Patch Kids!

6.  The time I got into the biggest amount of trouble when I was a kid was when I     ...I never got in TOO much trouble, but I did sign my mom's name on a quiz one time.  It was an awful feeling when I got caught   .

7.  I get daily inspiration from    bloggers, Pinterest, my students .

Help a girl (and some kids) out!

Remember music class in elementary school?  I do.  I remember playing the recorder, electric keyboard and getting SO excited for the holiday music concerts and shows.  Music class in the early years made some of us interested in music in the later years and also turned some of us into future musicians.

Which brings me to my plea...my sister is raising money for a great organization in Chicago,  Rock for Kids.  Here is a little info about them:

MISSION

Rock For Kids provides music education to underserved children in Chicago, sparking creativity and passion, teaching critical thinking, supporting academic achievement and enriching young lives.

VISION

Rock For Kids believes that through music education, children become creative, energized and successful members of society, while cultivating appreciation and enjoyment of the arts.

Rock For Kids recognizes that music has the power to transcend challenging situations and transform lives, and, as such, imagines a future in which all young people have access to music education as a catalyst for self-expression, motivation and stability.

Holiday Cards from Shutterfly....

It's coming.  Halloween is Monday, which means Tuesday, everyone will be thinking about and planning their holiday cards.  Last year I loved my holiday cards from Shutterfly.  I loved taking the pictures for it and I loved designing the cards (even though it took hours!). I can't WAIT to do it again, it will be great to keep the cards from every year to see how Jack (and we) have grown.

The 2011 holiday card options from Shutterfly are amazing.  There are so many choices, and so many designs, I am already having a difficult time deciding.  

If you’re not familiar with Shutterfly, they are phenomenal.  I order most of my prints, photo books, calendars, invites and cards through their site.

The other benefit to using Shutterfly is that their site acts as a holding space for your images.  You have unlimited space, it’s free and if your computer crashes, your images are still safe!  That should make you feel at ease!

What's nice about the site, is that you can narrow down the options to get the exact design options that you like.  I really prefer contemporary flat cards, so I chose that option.  I like to leave my choices open as far as the number of photos. I also think I will be choosing the  square cards , I love the look of them!

Hopefully by Thanksgiving I will be able to choose!!!  ; )

Wordless(ish) Wednesday...Family Photos

I wanted some nice family pics before Jack got too old (and we got too old!).  So we had the amazing Kelli Kalish take our pics.  It was a bit hard to get Jack to smile, and he WOULD NOT step one foot on the sand, but she did a great job!
